Workforce AI Training

AI training for workforce programs and employers

Practical, role-specific AI training for HR and operations teams, career and technical education programs, and Texas employers. Your people practice on the work they do every week, with the tools your organization has approved, and leave with assistants and workflows they can use the next morning.

The fit

Built for teams that need AI skills on the job

Who it is for

  • Texas employers upskilling frontline, customer service, and operations staff
  • HR, finance, and administrative teams in colleges, agencies, and companies
  • Workforce and continuing education program leaders
  • Career and technical education (CTE) and dual credit programs
  • Community and technical colleges building employer training partnerships

The problem it solves

Many teams already have an AI tool on every desktop, often with little guidance on how to use it well for a specific job or where the privacy lines sit for company and customer data.

This training closes that gap with hands-on practice on real tasks: drafting, summarizing, analysis, and the recurring requests that fill a team's week. Staff leave with tested prompts, a working assistant, and clear rules for safe use.

Outcomes

What participants leave with

The "Build Your AI HR Assistant" sessions for Lone Star College System HR teams set the model: every participant builds something they use the next day.

  • A custom assistant or agent built for a recurring task in their role
  • Prompts and instructions that produce reliable, on-brand output
  • Faster first drafts of emails, reports, summaries, and job aids
  • Clear, privacy-minded rules for using approved tools such as Microsoft Copilot
  • A team playbook of tested prompts and workflows to share
  • For program leaders: ideas for bringing AI skills into CTE and workforce curriculum

Funding route for Texas employers

The Texas Skills Development Fund

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) administers the Skills Development Fund, a grant program for customized employee training in Texas.

Grants are competitive and awarded by TWC in funding cycles, so we treat SDF as an option to explore together. Approval is never guaranteed.

Read the full Skills Development Fund guide

How the route works

  1. Partner with a public college.Your business partners with a Texas public community or technical college, and the college applies to TWC for the grant.
  2. Scope the training. We design the AI curriculum for your roles so the application describes training that teaches job skills.
  3. Grant decision.Timelines follow TWC funding cycles and often take a few months from partnership to the start of training.
  4. Training delivery. If awarded, the grant can cover direct training costs such as instructor fees, curriculum, and materials. The employer's match is typically the wages paid to employees during training hours.
Sample agenda

  3. 0:55 to 1:35Build your assistant. Each participant builds an assistant for a recurring request, such as policy questions, job postings, or meeting summaries.
  4. 1:35 to 1:45Break

Buyer questions

Workforce AI training FAQ

What determines the cost of workforce AI training?

Four things: session length, group size, the amount of customization for your roles, and travel for on-site delivery. After the consultation call we send a fixed quote.

Can the Skills Development Fund pay for this training?

It may. Texas businesses can partner with a public community or technical college, which applies to the Texas Workforce Commission for a Skills Development Fund grant. If the grant is awarded, it can cover direct training costs, and the employer's match is typically employee wages during training hours. Grants are competitive and follow TWC funding cycles, so approval is never guaranteed. Our Skills Development Fund guide covers eligibility and timing in more detail.

Can you tailor the training to our industry, and deliver it on site or online?

Yes. The planning call maps the roles attending and the tasks they handle, and the examples and practice work come from that list. Training runs on site or live virtual, and both formats include hands-on building time.

Which AI tools do you use, and how do you protect our data?

We train on the tools your organization has approved, such as Microsoft Copilot, and add others only where your policy allows. Every session covers which company, employee, and customer data stays out of AI tools and how to configure the tools your staff use.

Is this the same as the state-certified courses for Texas government employees?

They are separate offerings. The AI Awareness for Texas Government course (Texas DIR-certified) and the Cybersecurity Awareness for Texas Government course (Texas Cyber Command-certified) are self-paced online courses. The training on this page is live, hands-on, and customized to your teams.

How do procurement and invoicing work?

Share your purchasing requirements on the consultation call. We provide a written quote and an invoice, and we work within your organization's purchasing process, including a college partner's process when a grant is involved.
