Campus AI Implementation Program

AI consulting for higher education, from task force to roadmap

Your campus needs one coordinated AI plan that faculty trust and leadership can act on. Tim Mousel chairs the Lone Star College System-Wide AI Task Force and serves as an AI educational consultant for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. He helps your institution stand up its own task force, draft policy, and move from discussion to implementation.

  • Chair, Lone Star College System-Wide AI Task Force
  • AI educational consultant, THECB
  • Invited participant, White House Task Force on AI Education (September 2025)
  • 50+ institutions served
The fit

For leaders who own the campus AI decision

Who it is for

  • Presidents, provosts, and chief academic officers setting institutional AI direction
  • AI task forces and committees that need structure, momentum, and a charter
  • Deans and faculty senate leaders shaping academic policy on AI use
  • Teaching and learning, IT, and online learning leaders coordinating tools and training
  • Multi-campus systems aligning several colleges around one approach

The problem it solves

On many campuses, AI decisions happen in pockets. One department writes a syllabus statement, IT approves a tool, a committee meets without a mandate, and faculty hear different messages from each.

This program gives your institution a single structure: clear roles and decision rights, first pilots that build momentum, policy and communication language ready for review, and a roadmap with owners and dates.

Buyer questions

Higher education AI consulting FAQ

How is a consulting engagement priced?

Each engagement gets a fixed quote based on its length, the number of groups involved, the amount of customization, and travel for on-site sessions. We send the quote after the consultation call, once we understand your scope.

We already have an AI committee. Can you still help?

Yes. We start from the work your committee has already done, then add the charter, decision rights, and roadmap that turn a discussion group into a task force with a mandate.

Will you write our AI policy?

We draft policy language, syllabus guidance, and campus communications for your review. Your governance bodies revise and approve the final versions, which keeps ownership with your institution.

Which AI tools do you recommend, and how do you handle data privacy?

We build the plan around tools your campus has approved or is evaluating, such as Microsoft Copilot. Privacy and data protection are part of the readiness review and the policy drafts, and any custom tool we build is designed with your data rules in mind.

Can the work happen virtually?

Yes. Readiness reviews and many working sessions run well online. Leadership retreats and stakeholder sessions often benefit from an on-site visit, and we can mix both formats in one engagement.

How do procurement and grant funding work?

We provide a written quote and an invoice and work within your institution's purchasing process. If a grant is paying for the work, share its requirements and we will align the scope and documentation with them. Funding decisions rest with your institution and the grantor.
