What Does Texas Government Code Section 2054.5193 Require?
Texas Government Code Section 2054.5193: Every state and local government employee who uses a computer for 25% or more of their duties must complete annual AI awareness training from a DIR-certified provider.
Annual Deadline: Employees must complete training by August 31 each year, and completion must be verified and reported to DIR. Local governments that received state criminal justice grants risk repayment and a two-year grant ineligibility for noncompliance (HB 3512).
