1. Overview

Universal Prompt Memory ("the Extension") is built by Evolve AI Institute LLC with privacy as a core principle. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is stored, and your rights regarding your data.

The short version: Your prompts never leave your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on external servers.

2. Data We Collect

We collect no personal data. The Extension does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information, browsing history, usage analytics, or telemetry data on any server.

All data created through the Extension — including prompts, folders, tags, and settings — is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API.

3. Local Storage Only

The Extension uses Chrome's local storage API to save your data directly on your device. This means:

  • Your prompts are stored only on your computer
  • No data is sent to any server or cloud service
  • No account or sign-in is required
  • Your data remains under your full control at all times

If you uninstall the Extension or clear your browser data, your locally stored prompts will be permanently deleted. We recommend using the Extension's built-in export feature to back up your data regularly.

4. Browser Permissions Explained

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions. Each is used solely for the functionality described:

storage

Used to save your prompts, folders, tags, and settings in Chrome's local storage. This data never leaves your browser.

contextMenus

Adds a "Save selection as prompt" option to your right-click context menu. This allows you to highlight text on any webpage and save it as a prompt.

activeTab

Grants the Extension temporary access to the currently active tab only when you interact with it (such as opening the command palette or using the context menu). The Extension does not access tabs in the background.

scripting

Allows the Extension to inject the command palette and save dialog into web pages when you request it. The Extension only injects content in response to your explicit actions — it does not run automatically or scan page content.

5. No Analytics or Tracking

The Extension does not use:

  • Google Analytics or any analytics service
  • Cookies or tracking pixels
  • Fingerprinting or device identification
  • Usage telemetry or crash reporting to external services

6. No Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, share, or transfer your data to any third party. Since we do not collect your data in the first place, there is nothing to share.

7. Data Export and Deletion

You have full control over your data:

  • Export: Use the Extension's Settings page to export your entire prompt library as a JSON file at any time
  • Import: Import a previously exported JSON file to restore your prompts on any device
  • Delete individual prompts: Delete any prompt from the popup or the Settings page
  • Delete all data: Use the "Delete All Data" button on the Settings page to permanently remove all prompts, folders, tags, and settings
  • Uninstall: Uninstalling the Extension removes all locally stored data

8. Website Interaction

When you use the command palette or save dialog on a website, the Extension interacts with that page's text fields to insert or read selected text. The Extension:

  • Does not read or scrape page content automatically
  • Does not capture keystrokes
  • Only reads selected text when you explicitly choose "Save selection as prompt" from the context menu
  • Only inserts text into fields when you explicitly select a prompt to insert

9. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the Extension collects no data from any user, this concern is inherently addressed by our privacy-first architecture.

10. Security

Your data is protected by Chrome's built-in storage security. Chrome's local storage is sandboxed to the Extension and is not accessible by other extensions or websites. The Extension uses a closed Shadow DOM for its injected UI elements, preventing host pages from accessing or manipulating Extension interfaces.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
